Hillary Clinton [D]
Source note
Maine distributes its electoral votes proportionally by Congressional district, with two at-large electors representing the statewide winning presidential and vice presidential candidates and one elector each representing the winners from its two Congressional districts. For the first time since adopting this system, Maine's four electoral votes were split between the two major party tickets. There were faithless votes cast for president and vice president in Hawaii, Texas, and Washington.

Coverage and interpretation notes

  • Historical geometry is independently versioned

The map uses a checksum-pinned, election-date geometry build while Electoral College allocations remain traced to the NARA fact tables.

  • County Shift Lab is available

MEDSL county popular-vote facts are available in a separate truth-preserving layer. Only approved election-vintage geometry is mapped; special units and pending boundaries remain explicit.
